Description
Villa for sale in Formentera
Built in 1973 and renovated in 2009.
Designed by italian’s architect, it suited the structural philosophy, paying particular attention to the mediterranean problems that existed at the time on the island, such as the absence of water, electricity as well as the high summer temperatures which can be managed well with the natural ventilation in the area.
As regards the location, the pinewood was chosen because it’s protected by the sun and, after having spent hours to the sea, it was considered a perfect choice.
The decision was to make a limited investment, thinking that it was a holiday home and therefore it should have been managed at moderate costs.
The former project was to use the available materials which could be found on the island in the past, using the original stone, the “cotto”, the traditional “majolica” and, for the windows, a mysterious wood called “melis”.
Everything was made as chosen except the too expensive stones.
In 2009 on the project of the new architect, a restructuring of the roof and the interior has been made, in order to add two bedrooms of the first floor and two complete bathrooms.
